This piece of cherry branch was harvest after a windstorm. I absolutely love being inspired by mother natures fallen pieces and transforming them into wearable art.

In ancient mythology the fruit of the Cherry tree contains the elixir which gives the Gods their immortality! In Chinese lore it was believed that the magical Phoenix slept on a bed of Cherry blossom to bless it with ever-lasting life.
In old Buddhist stories, the Cherry is representative of fertility and femininity. According to legend, the mother of Buddha was supported by a holy Cherry tree as she gave birth. The symbol of the ruby-red Cherry is also popular in western culture and the gift of a Cherry tree is said to bring good fortune and future happiness to the days to come!

We have a 200 acre parcel of land in Ontario that is being maintained under a MFTIP program which offers a property tax reduction on well-managed forest land in Ontario. It is an incentive to support landowners in the stewardship of our forests.
NATURAL BARK FINISH
I finish all bark pendants with "Terra Nova" a "Natural Oil" finish that prevents drying, and naturally nourishes the wood. This natural oils does not contain any dyes, perfumes, or additives. It is approved for food contact and contains NO nut oils.
Pendant comes with a dark leather chord.

Each item in the shop is handmade in the woods.
I try to use only natural, vintage or recycled materials that I find when crafting.
Each piece is purified with the healing energies of a piece of "cedar stick". A deeply sacred, spiritual tree which possesses cleansing energy & healing properties similar to sage.
Every shipment is prepared with love & a little majick.
Most parcels are sent in cardboard boxes that have already been used (which is why you will sometimes find traces of old labels), with bubble wrap, kraft etc., also "recycled", in order to avoid waste or unnecessary over-consumption.
